License utilization

Using one license for Live / Production, Staging, Dev and Localhost sites

You can use one license for Live / Production, Staging, Dev and Localhost Sites if your domain name is clearly a dev or staging site. The system automatically recognizes specific domains and subdomain conventions as staging or dev environments. Here is the list:

TLDs that are considered as dev or staging:

  • *.dev
  • *.dev.cc (DesktopServer)
  • *.test
  • *.local
  • *.staging
  • *.example
  • *.invalid
  • *.myftpupload.com (GoDaddy)
  • *.cloudwaysapps.com (Cloudways)
  • *.wpsandbox.pro (WPSandbox)
  • *.ngrok.io (tunneling)

Subdomains that are considered as dev or staging:

  • local.*
  • dev.*
  • test.*
  • stage.*
  • staging.*
  • stagingN.* (SiteGround; N is an unsigned int)
  • *.wpengine.com (WP Engine)
  • dev-*.pantheonsite.io (Pantheon)
  • test-*.pantheonsite.io (Pantheon)
  • staging-*.kinsta.com (Kinsta)
  • staging-*.kinsta.cloud (Kinsta)
  • *.mystagingwebsite.com' (Pressable)

Additionally, if your domain is a localhost (with any port), it will also be treated as a localhost domain.

If your dev or staging site doesn’t fit the criteria listed above, try to deactivate the license from within the WP Admin dashboard (WooCommerce -> FiboSearch -> My Account), and then reuse the license.

Multisite network license utilization

Each subsite in a multisite setup requires a license activation. For example, a user with a 10-subsite network would like to activate a license for their entire network, they’ll need to purchase a license that can be activated on at least 10 sites or multiple licenses whose combined activations limit is 10 or more.

Multilingual license utilization

Plugins such as WPML, Polilang, and others allow different domains or subdomains to be linked to the translations. Regardless of whether you use a different domain or subdomains for each language, the number of languages doesn’t affect the license limits.

Furthermore, every FiboSearch plan comes with a limited number of supported products. In multilingual sites, we take into account the total products of a single language where there is the largest number of published products. We don’t add up products from all languages.

For example:

  1. WPML with 10 languages, 8k products for every language – Personal plan
  2. WPML with 2 languages, 22k products for every language – Entrepreneur plan
  3. WPML with 2 languages, 70k products for every language – Agency plan
